Aglaonema pictum 'Tricolor' is one of the most spectacular and sought-after varieties of Aglaonema, due to its unique leaves, which resemble natural camouflage. The leaves are oval, thick and have a distinct pattern in three shades of green: dark green, light green and gray-green. This exotic plant is native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia and is appreciated both for its ornamental appearance and for its low maintenance requirements.

Care:

Light

It prefers bright indirect light to maintain the intensity of the colors on the leaves.

Its tolerance to lower light makes it ideal for less-lit indoor spaces, but the variegated colors may become less vibrant.

Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.

Temperature

It grows best at temperatures between 18-27°C.

It is sensitive to cold and does not tolerate temperatures below 15°C.

Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

humidity

It prefers a moderate to high level of humidity.

In dry spaces, spray the leaves periodically with water or use a humidifier.

Avoid overwatering the leaves to prevent spots or mold.

Watering

Keep the soil slightly moist, but not soaked.

Water the plant when the top layer of soil is dry to the touch.

Make sure the pot has good drainage to prevent waterlogging and root rot.

ground

Use a well-drained soil mix, such as a houseplant mix, combined with perlite or peat moss to improve drainage and aeration.

Fertilization

Fertilize the plant once a month during the active growth period (spring and summer) with a balanced, liquid fertilizer for decorative foliage plants.

During winter, reduce fertilization as the plant goes dormant.

Replanting

Repot the plant every 1-2 years or when the roots fill the pot.

Choose a new pot with drainage holes and use fresh soil.

Trimming and maintenance

Remove dry or damaged leaves to maintain a neat appearance.

Pruning is rarely necessary because the plant has a slow growth rate.

Common problems

Yellowing leaves: Can be caused by excessive or insufficient watering.

Soft leaves: Often indicates root problems, caused by stagnant water.

Pests: May be affected by scale insects, aphids or red spider mites. Inspect the plant regularly and treat with a suitable insecticide if necessary.

Height with pot included approx. 5 cm - Young specimens

Young leaves can sometimes have less obvious variegation, but this becomes clearer as the leaf matures.

The decorative vase is not included in the price.
