Vaccinium corymbosum 'Duke' is a variety of American blueberry self-fertile (Vaccinium corymbosum) from the Ericaceae family, especially appreciated for its high-quality fruits. The 'Duke' cultivar is early and productive, offering large and delicious fruits, with good resistance to diseases and pests.

The 'Duke' blueberry is a medium-sized perennial shrub, with a mature height between 1.5 and 2.5 meters and a similar width. In spring, it produces small, greenish-white, bell-shaped flowers that appear in clusters. The flowers are followed by fruits that ripen early, at the beginning of summer (mid-June).

The fruits of Vaccinium corymbosum 'Duke' are remarkable for their large size and dark blue color, with a fine waxy coating on the surface. These blueberries stand out for their sweet and aromatic taste, being appreciated both for fresh consumption and for use in various culinary preparations, such as jams, jellies, cakes, or smoothies.

The 'Duke' blueberry can be fertilized with organic fertilizer (possibly for acid-loving plants) during the March - May period.

The American blueberry 'Duke' prefers acidic, moist, and well-drained soils, and grows best in full sun or partially shaded areas. It is resistant to low temperatures and has very good tolerance to diseases and pests. To maintain the plant's productivity and health, it is important to remove old shoots and adjust soil acidity every spring. Although the variety is self-fertile, productivity will be improved when growing multiple cultivars, due to superior pollination.

Resistance: withstands -30 degrees Celsius and drought. Immune to most diseases and pests. Does not require spraying and is generally considered 'Pest Free'.

Pot size: 9 cm

Height including pot: approx. 30 cm (varies depending on the season).

Note: In the cold season, garden plants are sold pruned and without leaves.
