Phalaenopsis pulcherrima orchid is widespread, from northeastern India through Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam, and southwards through Malaysia, Sumatra to Borneo.
Usually, these are found at low altitudes, but there are known cases of sightings at altitudes up to 1300 m. They grow as terrestrial orchids, in the shade of shrubs and bushes. The soil is sandy, well-drained, containing organic debris additives.
Phalaenopsis pulcherrima orchid is a lithophytic or terrestrial orchid, reaching 15 cm in height with leaves 5-15 cm long. The flower stalks are long, with sequential blooming, reaching lengths of up to 50-80 cm.
Flower size: approx. 2.5 cm
