Tulipa ‘Miranda’ is a "peony" type (double late) tulip variety, famous for its huge, densely layered flowers that can have up to 18-20 petals each. Unlike classic tulips, ‘Miranda’ offers a dense visual spectacle, with bright scarlet-red flowers that seem to burst with color in the spring garden.

Why choose ‘Miranda’?

    • Spectacular Double Flowers: Its shape resembles a peony or an English rose, offering much more volume than regular tulips.

    • Vibrant Color: The saturated red does not go unnoticed, making it ideal for creating focal points in flower beds.

    • Strong Stems: Although the flower is heavy and full, the stems are sturdy and withstand wind or moderate rain well.

    • Remarkable Cold Resistance: It is an extremely hardy variety (winterhard); the bulb survives in soil at temperatures down to -25 degrees Celsius.

Care and Use Tips

  1. Planting: Bulbs are planted in autumn or spring. Choose a well-drained spot; tulips do not tolerate excess water in the soil during winter (the bulb may rot).

  2. Table Effect: For maximum visual impact, plant ‘Miranda’ in groups of at least 10-15 bulbs. The "carpet of red peonies" look is impressive.

  3. After Blooming: Let the leaves yellow and dry naturally before cutting them. This allows the bulb to store energy for the next year.

  4. Combinations: It looks stunning alongside white or yellow tulips for a classic contrast, or next to plants with silvery foliage.

Design Tip: Due to the density of the petals, ‘Miranda’ looks incredible in a large terracotta pot placed on a sunny terrace, where the flowers can be admired up close.
