Trichocereus ‘Multiproliferum’ - cactus cu flori mari parfumate

Trichocereus multiproliferum is a spectacular cactus with a columnar habit and a remarkable ability to produce numerous basal shoots, forming dense colonies over time. Originally from the arid regions of South America, this cactus is appreciated both for its imposing appearance and for its drought resistance and ease of maintenance.

🌵 Botanical characteristics :

• Family : Cactaceae

• Plant type : perennial cactus with a vertical port, branched from the base

• Stem : deep green, with well-defined veins and covered with long, golden-yellow or brown spines

• Growth : moderate but vigorous; forms abundant lateral shoots, hence the name "multiproliferum"

• Flowers : large, white or cream, fragrant, opening at night - may appear on mature plants

☀️ Care and growing conditions :

• Light : requires direct sun – minimum 5–6 hours/day for optimal development

• Soil : well-drained substrate, specific for cacti (with sand, perlite and peat poor in nutrients)

• Watering : reduced – only after the substrate has completely dried; in winter keep almost dry

• Temperature : ideally between 15–30°C ; withstands down to -5°C if kept dry, but frost protection is recommended in Romania
