The Purple Cactus (Sulcorebutia Rauschii) is native to the Chuquisaca region of Bolivia and owes its name to its discoverer, collector Walter Rausch.
The plant acquires shades of purple if it is continuously exposed to the sun.
Flowering occurs at the end of spring, when the plant produces beautiful funnel-shaped magenta flowers.
The cactus is among the most popular houseplants due to its easy maintenance. Like all plants, they need light, a suitable soil, water and fertilizer.
