Phalaenopsis KS Balm ‘Yellow Chocolate’ is a fragrant hybrid, valued for its warm shades and flowers that can remain decorative for weeks at a time. Care follows the classic Phalaenopsis routine: filtered light, well-aerated roots, and watering based on the substrate’s actual drying rate.

Light and temperature. Provide plenty of filtered light near an east-facing window or at a distance from a south-facing window. Avoid strong sunlight, cold temperatures, and hot air from radiators. A stable room temperature and gentle ventilation are sufficient.

Watering and fertilizing. Water when the roots turn silver and the bark is almost dry; allow excess water to drain completely. During the active growing season, apply diluted orchid fertilizer after watering.

Substrate and flower spikes. Repot after flowering or when the bark has broken down, using an airy orchid substrate. A green flower spike should not be cut automatically; it may branch. Cut it only after it has dried out completely.

Flowering. Buds are better preserved if the plant is not suddenly moved after the flower spike has formed. Proper light and active roots support reblooming.
