Parodia penicillata
17,00 zł
Parodia penicillata is a small and attractive cactus, native to the mountainous regions of South America, especially Argentina. It is known for its fine spines, which are golden or white, and for its striking flowers.
Description:
- Shape: Parodia penicillata has a globular or slightly cylindrical shape, growing up to about 5-10 cm in height and 5-7 cm in diameter. The surface of the cactus is covered with numerous tubercles, arranged in spirals.
- Spines: The spines are thin and dense, pale yellowish-white or golden in color. They are arranged radially and cover almost the entire body of the plant, giving it a pearly appearance.
- Flowers: The flowers are large compared to the size of the cactus, measuring 3-4 cm in diameter. They appear at the top of the plant during spring and summer.
Care:
- Light: Parodia penicillata prefers exposure to direct sunlight or partial shade. Proper sun exposure helps spine development and abundant flowering.
- Soil: This species prefers well-drained soil, typical for cacti. A mix of sand, gravel, and soil for cacti is ideal to prevent water retention at the roots.
- Watering: Watering should be moderate during the growing season (spring and summer). It is important to let the soil dry completely between waterings. During winter, watering should be significantly reduced.
- Temperature: Parodia penicillata tolerates high temperatures but does not withstand frost. It is recommended to keep it at temperatures above 5°C during winter.
- Fertilizing: During the active growth period, it can be fertilized once a month with a diluted fertilizer specific for cacti.
