Opuntia pailana is a cactus species native to Mexico, rarely found in trade but highly valued by collectors for its graphic appearance and distinctive stem hue. The plant forms large, flat pads of a matte blue-green color, covered with areoles bearing long, thin, yellow-brown spines, giving it a wild and ornamental look.
Under good light and warmth conditions, it can produce yellow flowers, sometimes followed by small fruits. It is a plant with moderate to fast growth, ideal for desert-inspired gardens as well as for large pots placed in sunny spots.
