Neoporteria gerocephala (syn. Eriosyce gerocephala) is a collectible cactus native to Chile, valued for its compact appearance and elegant spines that almost completely cover the plant's body. Its shape ranges from globular to cylindrical, and the contrasting coloration between the epidermis and spines gives it a distinctive look, highly sought after by cactus collectors.

In spring and summer, it can produce large, brightly colored flowers that strongly contrast with the plant’s sober appearance.
