Hoya carnosa 'Albomarginata'

Hoya carnosa with marginal variegation, marketed under the name 'Albomarginata', is an epiphytic vine with fleshy, oval leaves in which the green center is bordered by cream to white margins. New growth and lighter areas may temporarily develop pink hues, while the distribution of variegation varies between leaves. It produces umbels of pink, star-shaped, fragrant flowers characteristic of the Hoya carnosa group. The light-colored border brightens any corner of the room.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are thick, oval to elliptical, with a green center and cream-white margins. On young leaves, the variegated areas and stems may have pink tones that fade as they mature. The proportion of green and white is not identical on every leaf. The plant has a vining habit and can be trained onto a support or left to grow trailing.

Flowers and fragrance. The flowers are star-shaped, pink to pale pink, with a darker center, and appear in clusters within umbels. They are fragrant, and the intensity of the fragrance may vary throughout the day and depending on the maturity of the inflorescence. Flowering depends on the plant's age and growing conditions.
