Euphorbia horrida var. striata alba is a striking and exotic succulent plant, native to South Africa. This variety is noted for its cylindrical, prominent stems of green-grey color, adorned with distinctive white stripes. The plant has a sturdy appearance, covered with long, stiff thorns, giving it a dramatic and appealing look. It is ideal for collections of rare succulents or for modern indoor decoration.

Care:

  1. Light: Euphorbia horrida prefers strong light and direct sunlight but can also tolerate bright indirect light. It is important to place it in a well-lit spot to maintain its colors and healthy shape.

  2. Watering: Requires moderate watering, typical for succulent plants. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. During winter, watering should be significantly reduced or stopped to respect the natural rest cycle.

  3. Soil: Grows best in well-drained soil, suitable for cacti and succulents. Add sand or perlite to ensure proper drainage and prevent water accumulation.

  4. Temperature: Euphorbia horrida thrives at temperatures between 18-30°C. It does not tolerate frost and must be protected from temperatures below 10°C.

  5. Fertilizing: During the growing season (spring and summer), fertilize the plant monthly with a fertilizer specific for cacti and succulents, diluted to half strength. Fertilizing is not necessary during the resting period.
