Dioscorea elephantipes - Elephant's Foot, Turtle Shell (caudex) babyplant

Dioscorea elephantipes - an endemic species from South Africa, which impresses with the special caudex it forms as the plant develops.

The mature caudex looks like a huge turtle shell, reaching impressive sizes in nature.

Although it is a "slow grower", the plant does not have special demands in terms of care.
