Full description and specifications
Lithops, also known as "living stones", are small, interesting plants, native to southern Africa, which are relatively easy to grow as indoor plants. It was first discovered by William John Burchell in 1811 during a botanical expedition in southern Africa.
These plants, from the plant family Mesembryanthemaceae (Aizoaceae), were named for their stone appearance: litos (= stone) and opsis > (= like).
In their native habitats of Namibia and South Africa they have evolved to blend in so well with their surroundings - looking exactly like the sand and rocks they live in, in shape, size and color - that they can be quite difficult to spot, even and for those trained and with years of experience.
Height with pots included: approx. 10 cm
Pot diameter 6 cm
The displayed price is for 1 plant. Not all specimens show flowers/buds.
