Clematis montana 'Pink Perfection' is a vigorous and highly fragrant variety from the Montana group, valued for its delicate, abundant pink flowers and intense sweet vanilla/chocolate scent.

The plant grows quickly and strongly (6-10 m tall or more), with woody stems that cling on their own. The leaves are trifoliate, glossy dark green, decorative throughout the season. Flowers appear in May-June (slightly later than other montana varieties), are large (6-8 cm), star-shaped, ranging from pale pink to delicate pink-purple, with creamy-yellow stamens. They cover the plant like a pink cloud and have a strong and pleasant fragrance that can be smelled from a distance.

Main features:

  • Size: large, vigorous (6-10 m length)
  • Leaf type: trifoliate, glossy dark green
  • Flower type: delicate pink star-shaped, with creamy-yellow stamens
  • Fragrance: intense, sweet (vanilla/chocolate)
  • Flowering period: May – June
  • Pruning group: 1

Simple and practical care:

  • Light: full sun or partial shade (top in sun, base in shade)
  • Temperature: very frost hardy (down to -20°C or lower)
  • Watering: moderate – moist but well-drained soil
  • Soil: rich in organic matter, well-drained, neutral to alkaline
  • Support: pergola, fence, wall, tree, or sturdy trellis
  • Pruning: immediately after flowering (remove dead shoots or control size); do not prune in spring!

An excellent choice for quickly covering pergolas, fences, or walls – it offers a fragrant pink cloud in late spring and beautiful green foliage in summer. Vigorous, easy to grow, and with a scent that fills your garden! Perfect for medium to large spaces.

Note: Flower color is influenced by growing conditions. Young plants may bloom white initially.

Garden or terrace plants are grown in unprotected or minimally protected areas (shade nets or hail nets). For this reason, they naturally may not have perfect foliage – leaves may show marks, defects, or other damage.

In the autumn-winter season, plants are sold without leaves.
