Chorus is used in the cultivation of orchids to combat infections caused by Botrytis (gray mold) and Fusarium (fusariosis).
A systemic penetrating fungicide, highly effective through the inhibitory action on essential amino acids, especially methionine, without interfering with ergosterol biosynthesis as triazoles do. The active substance is cyprodinil, which belongs to the anilinopyrimidine class, known for disrupting the life cycle of fungi by preventing the penetration and growth of mycelium in plant tissue. Translocation to the leaves is rapid and effective, moving upward (towards the upper parts of the plant) and across the leaf layers (accumulating in the leaves, where it provides protection for a longer period). The product can be used both curatively and preventively, being especially effective against fungal diseases that mainly occur in the cold season, though not limited to it.
Primarily used to combat brown rot and scab (caused by species of the genus Venturia) in fruit trees, it also finds use in tropical horticultural plant protection, especially in orchid cultivation, being a product recommended by renowned growers for fighting infections caused by Botrytis (gray mold) and Fusarium (fusariosis), especially when combined with Fludioxonil (commercially known as Switch).
Active substance: 500 g/kg cyprodinil
The general application concentration is 4.5 g (the content of one sachet) per 15 liters of water for prevention, or, in case of detected infestations, 4.5 g per 10 liters of water, applied within 72 hours after the first symptoms appear. Application should be done by spraying.
