Cattleya Kagaribi Dawn 'Red Star' (or Slc. Kagaribi Dawn 'Red Star') is a compact hybrid from the genus Cattleya (family Orchidaceae), created in 1987 by Sagami (C. Kagaribi × C. Tropic Dawn).

Brief botanical characteristics:

  • Flowers: Medium-sized, star-shaped, with an intense bright red color. Dominant influence (42%) from Cattleya cinnabarina – providing the “star-shaped” form and vivid pigmentation.
  • Habitus: Narrow, straight, and compact pseudobulbs; small to medium-sized plant with green leaves. Robust growth and repeated blooming.
  • Particularities: Hybrid with Brazilian rupicolous roots. Valued for the strong color contrast and distinctive shape. The 'Red Star' clone is award-winning.

A spectacular miniature Cattleya, ideal for smaller spaces.

Fragrant flowers: YES

Flower size: approx. 7.5 cm
This hybrid is cared for like a Cattleya orchid. Check the care guide here.

The ceramic pot is not included in the price. Flowers may show natural color variations influenced by season and growing conditions.

It has pretty leaves, seems to be bifoliate. Planted in sphagnum. Very small and I understand it is a miniature form so it wont grow very tall. It has healthy new growth, cant wait to see the flowers
