Perreiraara Rapeepath 'Pink' (Perr. Bangkok Sunset × Van. Pine Rivers)

Perreiraara Rapeepath ‘Pink’ is a vandaceous hybrid of Perreiraara Bangkok Sunset and Vanda Pine Rivers, with upright growth, active aerial roots, and pink-toned flowers. It needs plenty of light and moving air to develop firm leaves and flower spikes.

Light and temperature. Choose a very bright spot with filtered light and gentle morning sun after acclimatization. Warm indoor temperatures are suitable, but light ventilation is important; insufficient light causes dark leaves and slow growth.

Watering. Water thoroughly when the roots turn silver, then let the water drain completely. Aerial roots are normal and should not be cut. Standing water between the leaves, at the base, or in the decorative cover pot can cause problems more quickly than a short dry period.

Fertilizing and repotting. During active growth, apply diluted orchid fertilizer after watering. A basket, very well-ventilated pot, or secure mounting is suitable. Repot when new roots appear, using airy orchid potting medium if you choose to grow it in a pot.

Flowering and practical signs. A mature stem with firm leaves and roots with green tips has the best chance of flowering. Yellowish-green leaves may indicate excessive sunlight; soft roots or an affected base indicate overwatering and insufficient ventilation.
