Pachypodium lamerei, also known as the Madagascar palm, is a striking succulent plant native to the island of Madagascar, valued for its tall, cylindrical stem covered with thorns and a crown of long, green leaves arranged at the top. Although it resembles a palm, it is related to plants in the Apocynaceae family and behaves like a succulent, storing water in its stem.
