Schlumbergera ‘Thor Ida’ (Roze Kerstster) 2pp
Schlumbergera, also known by the popular names Christmas Cactus, Don't Disturb Me, or Holiday Cactus, is an epiphytic succulent plant native to the mountainous regions of Brazil. It is highly appreciated for its spectacular flowers, which naturally appear during the winter holiday season, bringing color and a festive atmosphere to any interior.
🌿 Care Conditions
Light
Prefers indirect light and adapts well to lower light areas. Avoid direct exposure to strong sunlight, which can cause leaf burns.
Watering
During the growth and flowering period, the soil should be kept slightly moist, without excess water. After flowering and during the resting period, watering is reduced. A well-drained substrate is essential to prevent root rot.
Humidity
Prefers moderate humidity. In dry indoor environments, occasional misting can be beneficial.
Temperature
Thrives best at temperatures between 15–22°C. To stimulate flowering, the plant can be temporarily exposed to lower temperatures, but not below 10°C, a few weeks before the desired flowering period.
Fertilization
During the growth period, a balanced liquid fertilizer can be applied, diluted according to instructions. Fertilization is suspended during the resting period.
Repotting
Repotting is preferably done after flowering and is only necessary when the plant has outgrown its current pot.
Height including pot: approximately 15–20 cm.
Decorative pot is not included in the price.
Note: The plant is usually sold without flowers, as they may fall off or wilt by the time of shipping. Schlumbergera has the ability to bloom again, and as the flowers mature, their colors become increasingly intense.
