Calathea picturata Argentea - purifies the air
Calathea picturata 'Argentea' is an impressive variety of the genus Calathea, known for its beautiful leaves and distinctive pattern. This plant is part of the Marantaceae family and is native to the tropical forests of South America, where it grows under the shade of large trees, benefiting from filtered light and high humidity.
- Light: Calathea 'Argentea' prefers indirect, bright light. Direct sunlight can discolor the leaves and lead to burns.
- Humidity: The plant loves high humidity, so it is an excellent choice for bathrooms or kitchens, or in any place where humidity is higher. A humidifier or a tray of gravel and water can help maintain humidity if the air in the house is dry.
- Water: Water the soil moderately. It is important to allow the topsoil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot.
- Temperature: Calathea 'Argentea' prefers temperatures between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius and must be protected from cold currents or temperatures below these limits.
- Fertilization: During the growth period, it is recommended to apply a balanced fertilizer for indoor plants, diluted, to support growth.
Note: Calathea is a sensitive plant to temperature differences. Therefore, it is possible to receive these plants with some defects on the leaves, but these do not affect the viability of the plant.
