€7,95
Puna subterranea belongs to the Orchid family, native to Peru and Bolivia. This plant has a strong root system that develops underground and has no visible leaves or stems above the surface.
Puna subterranea produces small flowers that are pollinated by insects and open during the night. These flowers have an interesting shape and are usually pink or violet, with long and thin petals and sepals.
This plant is rare and is endangered due to the destruction of its natural habitat and excessive gathering by collectors.
Puna subterranea requires moderate humidity, steady temperatures (18-22°C), moderate light, well-drained soil, and diluted fertilizer. It is fertilized during the growing season using a slow-release fertilizer, diluted to half the recommended dose, once every two weeks.
Synonyms: Andinia subterranea or Galeandra subterranea.
