Philodendron Green Dragon (Nadja)
Philodendron Green Dragon - variety with relatively fast upward growth, appreciated for its spectacular leaves, which tend to have a great variability in shape and color, especially when the plant is immature. It needs support for a proper, upward development.
This variety has nectar-producing glands on the back of the leaves. The nectar has the role of attracting ants in search of food - thus, the plant gains a supply of chemicals secreted by them, but also takes advantage of the aggressive manner in which the ant colonies defend their territory and food source, protecting the philodendron from other harmful insects .
Some specimens show a slight variegation, on some leaves (mottled variegation).
Other known popular or commercial names: Philodendron Nadja
Location: Philodendron prefers a bright area, away from direct sunlight. However, it will also tolerate a darker area. The foliage will become greener if it is placed in a shadier area.
