Dracaena surculosa 'Florida Beauty' , also known as "lucky bamboo" or "Japanese bamboo", is an ornamental plant appreciated for its unique and easy-to-maintain leaves.

This plant is ideal for beginners, with minimal care requirements.

1. Light :

  • It prefers indirect light or semi-shade.
  • It tolerates low light well, but the yellow spots on the leaves will be more pronounced in medium light.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause burns on the leaves.

2. Watering :

  • Water the plant when the top layer of soil is dry .
  • Generally, once a week is enough during the summer, and water less often in the winter.
  • Avoid overwatering, as this can cause root rot.

3. Humidity :

  • It prefers moderate humidity, but also tolerates dry air.
  • In very dry environments, spray the leaves with water or use a humidifier.

4. Soil :

  • Use a well-drained substrate, such as potting soil mixed with perlite or sand.

5. Temperature :

  • It grows best at temperatures between 18-26°C .
  • Avoid temperatures below 10°C and cold drafts.

6. Fertilization :

  • Apply a liquid fertilizer for indoor plants once a month during the active growth period (spring and summer).
  • Reduce fertilization during winter.

7. Transplantation :

  • Transplant the plant every 2-3 years or when the roots become crowded.
  • Use a pot with drainage holes to prevent water stagnation.

8. Cleaning the leaves :

  • Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and maintain their glossy appearance.
