Philodendron 'Jose Buono' is a spectacular cultivar, prized for its large, elongated leaves and irregular variegation in shades of green, cream, yellowish-white, and lime green. Each leaf may develop a different pattern, ranging from fine marbling to broad sectors of light coloration, making every specimen unique.

The plant from this batch displays strong variegation, visible through its extensive creamy-white areas and intense leaf marbling. As the plant matures and is grown on a support, the leaves may progressively become larger and more spectacular.

☀️ Growing conditions and care

• Light: prefers bright, indirect light. Specimens with intense variegation benefit from a well-lit position, but should be protected from strong direct sunlight, which can burn the light-colored areas.

• Substrate: very airy, porous, and well-draining, suitable for plants in the Araceae family.

• Watering: moderate; water thoroughly, then allow the upper part of the substrate to partially dry out between waterings. Avoid standing water.

• Humidity: appreciates moderate to high atmospheric humidity together with good air circulation.

• Temperature: prefers temperatures of approximately 18-28°C. Avoid cold temperatures and cold drafts.

• Support: recommended. A vertical support allows the aerial roots to attach and encourages the development of mature foliage.

• Fertilization: moderate during the active growing season, using a fertilizer intended for tropical foliage plants.

• Cold tolerance: does not tolerate frost; in Romania, it is grown as an indoor plant.
