Hoya krohniana - XL specimens

Hoya krohniana is a species native to the Philippines, with small, glossy, often heart-shaped foliage on trailing vines. The leaves may have silver splashes. In bright light, the green tissue may develop a burgundy, almost black tint. The dark color is a growing response, not the 'Black Leaves' selection. Flowers and fragrance. The flowers are star-shaped, finely pubescent, creamy white, and grouped in umbels. The fragrance is perceived mainly in the evening, as with Hoya lacunosa; the two species remain distinct. The flowers last for several days. Identity. The accepted botanical name is Hoya krohniana Kloppenb. & Siar, published in 2009. The species is native to the Philippines. Before its publication, the material circulated as Hoya lacunosa 'Heart Leaf'; this is a historical label.
