Hoya insularis - mature specimens

Hoya insularis is an accepted botanical species native to Borneo, with a climbing habit and long, narrow foliage that is unusual for the genus. It was initially known as Anatropanthus borneensis, and a phylogenetic study published in 2020 supported its inclusion in Hoya under its current name. Mature specimens are suitable for those who want to start with an already well-established plant, without confusing this product with the compact format listed separately.

Foliage. The leaves are long, narrow, and flat, with a silhouette that differs from the fleshy, broad foliage of many Hoya species. In brighter light, the color may shift from dark green toward purple tones; the gradual change in pigmentation should not be confused with dry sunburn caused by intense sunlight.

Flowers. The inflorescences have a distinctive structure, with flowers arranged at the ends of long pedicels, like the spokes of a wheel. Shades may range from pale yellow to peach and pink tones. The flowers are fragrant, while the fragrance intensity and exact appearance may vary depending on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.
