Hoya carnosa 'Snowball' is a cultivar prized for its thick, glossy, rounded-ovate leaves, variably splashed with silver. The foliage may display leaves of slightly different shapes and sizes on the same plant, while the vines grow vigorously and can be trained onto a support or left trailing. Under good growing conditions, it forms dense, almost spherical umbels with white to very pale pink flowers, a red centre, and a sweet fragrance.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are fleshy, dark green, and glossy, ranging from oval to almost cordate. The silver splash appears as fine speckles or larger areas and naturally varies between leaves. Some leaves may be more rounded or larger than others, and this variation does not indicate a health problem. The plant has a vining habit and grows rapidly under favourable conditions.

Flowers and fragrance. The star-shaped flowers are white to very pale pink, with an open corona and red centre. They are grouped in large, dense umbels, a feature that inspired the commercial name 'Snowball'. The fragrance is strong and sweet, often compared to honey. The flowers may last approximately 7 days, depending on their maturity and growing conditions.

Pot diameter: 10.5 cm.

Substrate: use an airy, well-draining mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
