Epiphyllum ‘Sarah Courant’ is a spectacular variety of epiphytic cactus, prized for its large, richly colored flowers and lush tropical appearance. It belongs to the “orchid cactus” group (Epiphyllum hybrid) and is grown especially for its impressive blooms and the elegant shape of its stems.

🔹 Botanical characteristics:

• Growth habit: An epiphytic plant with long, flat, arching stems without spines, which grow in a cascading form. It is ideal for hanging pots or large planters, where it can display its natural growth habit.

• Stems (cladodes): Green, broad, and flattened, with slightly scalloped edges. They can reach lengths of over 60–100 cm, becoming increasingly curved as the plant matures.

• Flowers: Very large, with a diameter of 15–20 cm, with long, pointed petals arranged in multiple layers. The color is vivid – bright magenta pink, with lighter tones toward the center and slightly darker outer petals. The flowers are short-lived (lasting 1–2 days), but highly eye-catching, appearing in flushes in spring and summer.

• Fragrance: Some plants may produce a lightly sweet fragrance, especially in the evening.

🔹 Recommended growing conditions:

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Gentle morning sun is beneficial, but protect it from the strong midday sun, which can scorch the stems.

• Soil: Airy and well-draining. A mix for epiphytic plants is recommended: peat + fine bark + perlite, or an adapted orchid substrate.

• Watering: Moderate. Water when the soil has dried slightly at the surface. During the dormant period (autumn-winter), reduce watering significantly.

• Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity, but also tolerates dry indoor air if kept away from direct heat sources.

• Temperature: Warm and stable temperatures are ideal. It does not tolerate temperatures below 10°C. In winter, keep it in a sheltered area or a bright indoor space.

• Fertilizing: During the growing season (spring–summer), fertilize every 2–4 weeks with fertilizer for flowering plants.

Note: Epiphyllum ‘Sarah Courant’ is a succulent plant with flat foliage that is sensitive to knocks and scratches. Some leaves may have small scars, spots, or cosmetic blemishes caused during growth or transport. These imperfections do not affect the plant’s health and are not grounds for a complaint – the plant is perfectly viable and will continue to grow normally.

The decorative pot is not included in the price.
