Sansevieria Inti, also known as Snake Plant, is a special variety of the Sansevieria genus, valued for its upright, stiff leaves and decorative patterns. It is a hardy and easy-to-care-for plant, ideal for indoor spaces, including offices or homes. Besides its aesthetic appearance, this plant also has air-purifying properties and is recommended by NASA for removing toxins.

Care

1. Light

Sansevieria Inti prefers bright indirect light but also adapts well to low light conditions. It can be placed almost anywhere, from sunny spots to darker corners. Prolonged direct exposure to strong sunlight can cause leaf burns.

2. Watering

• Frequency: Water the plant moderately, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Generally, watering every 2-4 weeks is sufficient, depending on the room’s temperature and humidity.

Cold season: During winter, reduce watering to a minimum (about once a month).

Watering issues: Overwatering can lead to root rot, the most common problem for Sansevieria.

3. Soil

Type: Use well-drained soil, specific for cacti and succulents. A mix of universal soil with perlite or sand is ideal.

Drainage: Make sure the pot has drainage holes to prevent water accumulation.

4. Temperature

Optimal: Sansevieria Inti prefers temperatures between 18-30°C.

Hardiness: It tolerates lower temperatures down to about 10°C but must be protected from frost.

5. Humidity

Tolerance: This plant prefers dry air, making it ideal for homes or offices with low humidity.

Spraying: It is not necessary to spray the leaves, but occasionally wiping them with a damp cloth helps keep their appearance clean.

6. Fertilizing

Active season: Fertilize the plant once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) using a houseplant fertilizer diluted to half the recommended strength.

Rest: Fertilizing is not necessary during winter.

7. Repotting

Repot the plant every 2-3 years or when the roots completely fill the pot. Repotting is preferably done in spring.
