Mammillaria gracilis cv. Arizona Snowcap
€3,95
Mammillaria gracilis cv. Arizona Snowcap is an attractive variety of cactus from the Mammillaria genus, known for its compact appearance and remarkable growth. It is a popular succulent among cactus collectors due to its unique shape and relatively easy care.
Mammillaria gracilis cv. Arizona Snowcap forms small dense clumps, made up of cylindrical stems covered with white, dense, and fluffy spines. This white covering gives the plant a "snowy" look, hence the name "Snowcap".
The stems are cylindrical, dark green in color, completely covered with white and silky spines. Individual stems can grow up to 5-10 cm in height and about 2 cm in diameter.
The flowers are small, bell-shaped, cream-white or pale yellow, and appear in a crown around the tip of the stems. Blooming usually takes place in spring and summer.
After flowering, the plant may produce small red fruits, which are decorative and contain seeds.
Care Requirements:
- Light: Prefers strong and direct light (at least 6 hours/day), so a south- or west-facing window is ideal.
- Watering: Like other cacti, it needs moderate watering, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. During winter, when the plant is dormant, it requires even less water.
- Temperature: Tolerates heat well but is not frost-hardy, so it should be kept at temperatures above 10 degrees Celsius.
- Soil: Needs well-drained soil, ideally a mix for cacti and succulents, which prevents water retention and the risk of root rot.
- Fertilizing: Can benefit from a diluted cactus fertilizer during the growing season.
Height with pot included approx. 8 cm
The displayed price is for 1 pot - the plant is sold without flowers.
