Hoya obovata is recognized as a "hoya cactus" - the plant does well with infrequent watering and medium or low atmospheric humidity and is easy to flower. It needs a substrate with good drainage and good light for flowering.
The flowers are a spectacular combination of red and pink, fragrant. The plant is considered easy to flower.
Origin: Maluku, Sulawesi, Thailand, Vietnam. The species was published for the first time in 1844.
