Identity. The sales name remains Hoya latifolia 'Splash'. The accepted species is Hoya latifolia G.Don, published in 1837, an epiphytic or lithophytic species native from Myanmar to western Malesia (Borneo, Java, Sumatra, Malaya, Thailand). 'Splash' is a foliage label. Similar material also appears as Hoya macrophylla Silver Splash; Hoya macrophylla Wight is an illegitimate homonym of this species, while Hoya macrophylla Blume is a different name. The title is not changed.

Specimens may have leaves with defects caused by international handling and transport.
