Full description and specifications

Sinocalycanthus 'Hartlage Wine' - highly ornamental hybrid named after student Richard Hartlage, who successfully crossed Sinocalycanthus chinensis (Chinese species) and Calycanthus floridus (USA species) in 1991 at the JC Raulston Arboretum at North Carolina State University.

A sensational plant was thus obtained, with a large flower (approx. 7-8 cm), burgundy, with a pleasant sweet fragrance. Also, this hybrid has a very good resistance to cold.

The appearance of the plant changes dramatically in late spring, when it is practically covered with fragrant flowers.

Other known names: Strawbusch, Orchid Tree, Sweetshrub

Cold resistance: -25°C

Height with pots included: approx. 30-40 cm
Pot diameter: 15 cm

In the cold season, the plants are sold without leaves, cut for branching.
