Scilla peruviana (Portuguese Squill)

Scilla peruviana is a bulbous plant that produces spectacular dark blue, star-shaped flowers in compact heads. Despite its name, it is not native to Peru, but to the Mediterranean regions. It blooms in spring and prefers sunny or partially shaded locations with well-drained soil.
