Saintpaulia 'Voila Red' is part of the modern "Voila" series, appreciated for its robust habit and extremely generous flowering. This variety stands out with its vibrant flowers, which elegantly contrast with the dark green, velvety foliage. It is a classic houseplant, reinterpreted: more resilient, more compact, and with a color that immediately catches the eye.

🌿 Botanical characteristics:

  • Genus: Saintpaulia (African Violet / Parma Violet)

  • Family: Gesneriaceae

  • Origin: Tanzania and Kenya (mountainous areas)

  • Foliage: compact rosette of fleshy leaves, covered with fine hairs (velvety), of intense green color

☀️ Growing conditions:

  • Watering (ESSENTIAL): Never water the leaves! Cold water on the leaves causes unsightly spots and rot. It is recommended to water from the saucer (pour water into the saucer, let it absorb for 15-20 minutes, then discard the excess) or directly on the substrate, avoiding the leaves.

  • Light: loves plenty of light, but indirect. Direct summer sun burns the leaves. In winter, however, it can be moved to a sunnier windowsill to stimulate flowering.

  • Temperature: it is an excellent houseplant, preferring constant temperatures (18-24°C); protect it from cold drafts from windows in winter.

  • Soil: light, fluffy substrate that drains water well (a mix of peat and perlite is ideal)

💚 Advantages and uses:

  • Repeated flowering: if it has good light and occasional fertilizer, it can bloom several times a year

  • Perfect size: being compact (10-15 cm tall), it fits perfectly on desks, nightstands, or narrow windowsills

  • Pet Friendly: it is considered a non-toxic plant for dogs and cats

Note: Delivery stage: You may receive this variety without flowers or with forming buds. Under optimal light conditions, it will bloom spectacularly again in the following weeks.

Transport: The leaves are fragile and can easily detach from mechanical shocks. We pack carefully, but a few leaves broken at the base do not affect the plant's long-term viability.
