Passiflora 'Lavender Lady' (Amethyst) is an old, striking hybrid originating in the UK, resulting from the crossing of Passiflora amethystina and Passiflora caerulea (a species with very good frost resistance).
The theory continues to be debated that Passiflora 'Amethyst' and Passiflora 'Lavender Lady' are different clones of the same cross, the resemblance between the two being very great, with minimal morphological differences.
