Full description and specifications

Glandulicactus mathssonii , also known as Sclerocactus mathssonii , is a rare cactus native to northeastern Mexico. This plant is appreciated for its unique appearance and is popular among cactus collectors due to its decorative thorns and impressive flowers.

Care:

  • Light: Glandulicactus mathssonii prefers direct sun or partial shade. The plant needs a lot of light to grow and bloom properly.
  • Soil: It needs a well-drained soil, specific for cacti and succulents, composed of sand, gravel and a little compost.
  • Watering: Watering should be moderate, letting the soil dry completely between waterings. In winter, watering should be reduced to prevent root rot.
  • Temperature: The plant is resistant to high temperatures, but does not tolerate frost, requiring protection during the winter.
  • Fertilization: During the growing season (spring and summer), monthly fertilization with a cacti fertilizer is recommended.

Height with pots included: approx. 12 cm

The plant is sold without flowers.
