Cattleya leopoldii - a botanical species found in southern Brazil, in coastal forests at altitudes below 100 meters, as a large epiphyte with 2 or 3 leaves, growing in warm conditions. It has cylindrical pseudobulbs, slightly thickened towards the top, covered at the base by white sheaths, bearing 2 apical leaves, oblong-elliptical, leathery, with sharp or slightly toothed edges. It blooms in mid-summer, on an upright racemose inflorescence with 3 to 10 flowers, supported by a green sheath on a newly formed pseudobulb. The flowers are strongly fragrant, waxy, and brightly colored.

Flower size: 7-11 cm
