Camellia is a wonderful plant, which delights us with its incredible flowers. The plant grows as a shrub and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It blooms profusely for 4-6 months a year (depending on care and microclimate).
In Asia, Camellia has a special importance, being popularly called the "tea plant" and considered a symbol of the samurai.
JAPANESE CAMELLIA CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Plant development: Shrub, with a maximum height of 1.5 - 2 m
Location: Camellia needs a lot of light but cannot stand direct sunlight all day long. It is recommended to place it in cool, partially shaded but bright spaces, with constant humidity. In the climatic conditions of Romania, the plant withstands very well outside - provided that it is planted in the garden, in a more protected place. It DOES NOT tolerate large temperature differences well (moving indoors-outdoors, from hot to cold or vice versa)!
Soil: prefers slightly acidic soil, but also grows well in neutral soil - in the garden, this aspect can be improved by administering sulfur supplements.
Propagation: By cuttings.
It withstands temperatures down to -18 degrees Celsius.
