Trichocereus ‘Multiproliferum’ - kaktus s velikim mirisnim cvjetovima

Trichocereus multiproliferum is a striking cactus with a columnar shape and a remarkable ability to produce numerous basal shoots, forming dense colonies over time. Native to the arid regions of South America, this cactus is valued both for its imposing appearance and for its drought resistance and ease of care.

🌵 Botanical characteristics:

• Family: Cactaceae

• Plant type: perennial cactus with upright growth, branched from the base

• Stem: deep green, with well-defined ribs and covered with long, yellow-golden or brown spines

• Growth: moderate but vigorous; produces lateral shoots abundantly, hence the name “multiproliferum”

• Flowers: large, white or cream, fragrant, opening at night – may appear on mature plants

☀️ Care and growing conditions:

• Light: requires direct sunlight – at least 5–6 hours/day for optimal growth

• Soil: well-drained substrate, specific for cacti (with sand, perlite, and nutrient-poor peat)

• Watering: low – only after the substrate has completely dried; keep almost dry in winter

• Temperature: ideal between 15–30°C; tolerates down to -5°C if kept dry, but frost protection is recommended in Romania
