Full description and specifications

Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi (syn. Phal. lamelligera) - Discovered in India, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, the Nicobar Islands, Malaysia, Java, Borneo, Sumatra and the Philippines, this plant grows in exposed lowland locations, on short vegetation in quite open areas or in dense riverine forests at altitudes between 200 and 1000 meters. It is a small epiphyte or lithophyte, adapted to warm to moderate temperatures. It has a short stem surrounded by overlapping leaf bases and fleshy leaves. It blooms on a lateral peduncle, 9 to 42 cm long, with many flowers (7-12). The flowers, which are fragrant and long-lasting, can appear at any time of the year, but with greater frequency in spring and autumn. It is recommended to keep the flower stems as long as they are green, because the plant tends to rebloom on the same stem. It shows sequential flowering.

This species can be mounted or planted in a coarse environment with free drainage, needing semi-shade, high humidity and a distinct dry period during the winter.

Flower size: 3-5 cm

Fragrant flowers: YES - strong fragrance
