Hoya pubicalyx 'White Dragon' (syn. Hoya Celata) - mature specimens

Hoya marketed as Hoya pubicalyx 'White Dragon' is a collectible cultivar with a climbing habit and elongated, lime-green foliage, usually without silver splash. The label Hoya celata also appears, but celata is a separately accepted species. The Secret Garden batch continues to be sold under the commercial name in the title. Under good growing conditions, umbels of star-shaped flowers may appear, horticulturally described as white or cream. The flowers are fragrant. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are elongated and glossy, with a lighter green color than many Hoya pubicalyx selections. The silver splash, common in this species, is usually absent from forms sold as 'Dragon'. This is not variegation. It has a vigorous vine-like habit and is suitable for growing on a support. New growth becomes denser as the tissue hardens.

Flowers and fragrance. In collections, 'White Dragon' is associated with white or cream star-shaped flowers grouped in umbels. The flowers are fragrant. We do not guarantee the exact color of the umbel and do not attribute to this batch the floral characteristics published for the species Hoya celata. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.

Horticultural identity. 'White Dragon' is a label, not a botanical epithet. Hoya celata Kloppenb., Siar, G.Mend., Cajano, Guevarra & Carandang is an accepted species native to the Philippines.

The decorative pot is not included in the price. Some leaves or vines may have sunburn or show damage.
