Clematis 'Miss Bateman' - clematis s velikim cvjetovima (Rana skupina velikocvjetnih)
Clematis 'Miss Bateman' - a spectacular variety with large flowers usually 12-16 cm in size, blooming towards the end of the spring season. The petal edges are overlapping, rounded, in shades of bluish-white, with a green stripe, sometimes prominent when the flower opens, and contrasting dark red stamens.
Classification: Early Large-flowered Group
Growing recommendations:
Large-flowered clematis prefer good quality soil with high nutrient levels and good moisture, but well-drained – they do not tolerate waterlogged soils where water stagnates. It is recommended to improve the soil with manure or compost at planting time, if possible. In the case of cultivation in drier soils that tend to dry out quickly, cover the base with a layer of shredded bark (or another type of mulch) to retain soil moisture.
Clematis generally prefer a growing space with good sun exposure.
If your clematis blooms in May-June (late spring), cut off the dead flower heads after they finish to encourage a second bloom in late summer or autumn.
Be prepared to wait a few years until your clematis reaches its best form.
First year = roots, second year = shoots and branching, third year = consistent and proper flowering.
During the cold season, the plants appear as leafless sticks that look dry – this is perfectly normal and the plants are very much alive.
Height including pot: approx. 40-60 cm
