Native to the arid regions of South America, ‘Monstrosus’ Cristata adapts perfectly to life in dry environments, being extremely hardy and easy to care for. Its irregular structure, with ridges and sinuous folds, gives it a mystical and organic air, making it an impressive decorative piece for any indoor space or cactus garden.

Care Instructions

Being a highly adaptable cactus, ‘Monstrosus’ Cristata requires minimal care, but a few essential points will keep it healthy and looking spectacular:

🌿 Light: Preferably strong direct light. It can also adapt to indirect light, but growth will be slower.

🌡️ Temperature: Tolerates temperatures between 10-35°C, but must be protected from frost (below 5°C).

💧 Watering: Very limited! Water once every 2-3 weeks in the warm season and once every 4-6 weeks in winter. Overwatering can cause root rot.

🌱 Substrate: Very well-drained soil, preferably a special mix for cacti and succulents, with a high content of sand and gravel.

🌿 Fertilizing: Apply a diluted fertilizer for cacti (NPK 5-10-10) once every 2 months during the growing period (spring-summer).

🪴 Repotting: Recommended every 3-4 years, to give roots space and renew the substrate.

Height with pot included approx. 15 cm
