Full description and specifications

Mammillaria is a popular genus of cacti native to Mexico, known for its varied shapes and attractive flowers. These cacti are fairly easy to care for, making them an excellent choice for novice succulent plant collectors.

Here are some essential tips for Mammillaria care:

Light: Mammillaria prefers intense and direct light. It is ideal to be exposed to direct sunlight for a few hours a day, but you must make sure that the plant gradually adapts to the strong light to avoid sunburn.

Watering: Watering should be moderate during the growing season (spring and summer). Let the soil dry completely between waterings. During the winter, reduce the frequency of watering, leaving the soil to remain dry for longer periods, because the plant enters a period of dormancy.

Temperature: Mammillaria does well at temperatures between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius. It is important to protect the plant from cold and frost, because they can cause irreversible damage.

Soil: Use a well-drained soil mixture, specially formulated for cacti and succulents.

Fertilization: Fertilize the plant with a cactus fertilizer during the growing season, once a month. Dilute the fertilizer to half the dose recommended on the package to avoid over-fertilization.

Replanting: Mammillaria must be replanted occasionally, every two or three years, to ensure fresh soil and to check the condition of the roots. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the root group, because a pot that is too large can retain excess water.

Pest control: Check the plant regularly for signs of pests such as aphids or mites.

Careful! Because the flowers last for a few days, until the order is shipped or during transport, they may reach you without flowers, but in optimal conditions they will rebloom.
