Phalaenopsis gigantea var. alba - αρωματικό
Phalaenopsis gigantea var. alba is the extremely rare and sought-after alba form of the Phalaenopsis gigantea species, native to Borneo (Sabah and Sarawak, Malaysia/Indonesia). It is one of the largest known Phalaenopsis orchids – a true "giant" with huge, pendulous, leathery, and glossy leaves that can reach 60-90 cm in length on mature plants, giving an impressive and dramatic tropical appearance.
The flowers are large (4-7 cm in diameter), flat, pure white or elegant creamy white with green spots, with a subtly orange-reddish lip in the center – a refined and modern contrast. They have a pleasant sweet fragrance, slightly floral, pronounced under good light and high humidity conditions. The inflorescences are long and branched, bearing 5-15 flowers simultaneously, long-lasting (3-4 weeks or more).
Flower size: 4 - 7 cm
