Phalaenopsis Taisuco Kobold
Phalaenopsis Taisuco Kobold is a decorative indoor hybrid with long-lasting blooms when provided with filtered light, well-aerated roots, and watering adapted to the substrate’s drying rhythm. A healthy plant develops firm leaves and roots with green tips before investing in a new flower spike.
Light and placement. Place the plant in bright, filtered light: near an east-facing window or away from a south-facing window. Direct summer sun can cause yellow-brown spots; insufficient light prolongs the interval between blooms. Avoid moving the plant repeatedly after the flower spike appears.
Watering. Water when the roots become silvery and the bark is almost dry. Water thoroughly, then allow all excess water to drain away. Water left in the cachepot, between the leaves, or in the crown can damage the roots and the base of the plant.
Temperature and fertilization. A stable indoor temperature, with gentle ventilation and no cold drafts, is suitable. During the growing season, apply diluted orchid fertilizer after watering. Small, consistent doses are safer than concentrated fertilization.
Substrate, repotting, and flower spike. Repot after flowering or when the bark has degraded, using an airy orchid substrate. A green flower spike should not be cut automatically; it may branch. Cut it only after it has dried out completely.
Practical signs. Very dark leaves and a lack of growth indicate insufficient light. Soft or brown roots after watering indicate excess moisture. Firm leaves, active roots, and regular new growth show that the plant is adapting well.
