Top cutting - the portion (cutting) from the upper part of the plant, with the growth tip. It is considered the best option for propagation, as it is actively growing from the moment of gathering.
Cutting - a cutting that includes a node and a leaf. Rooting can occur quite quickly, as most nodes already have aerial roots in various stages of development, but the growth point may appear more slowly.
General recommendations: The material or substrate used for rooting will be chosen depending on the buyer’s experience and microclimate. The following rooting methods are known: rooting in sphagnum moss, rooting in perlite/vermiculite/clay pellets, rooting directly in substrate, rooting in water. Regardless of the chosen method, the leaves should remain above the material used for rooting (not submerged in water/substrate/sphagnum/etc.).
The success of propagation/rooting cannot be guaranteed, as the entire process depends on the person who orders and cares for these cuttings. The microclimate (temperature, light, humidity, ventilation), materials used for rooting, chosen rooting method, tools, and human factor all influence the rooting process.
Upon purchase, they are packed in self-sealing bags with moist sphagnum to ensure optimal transport conditions.
