Scilla peruviana (Portuguese Squill)

Scilla peruviana is a bulbous plant that produces spectacular dark blue inflorescences, with a star-like appearance, grouped in compact heads. Despite the name, it is not originally from Peru, but from the Mediterranean regions. It blooms in the spring and prefers sunny or partially shaded places, with well-drained soil.
